Sizing & How to Measure

Choosing the right size is one of the most important steps in your bridal journey—and we’re here to make it easy. Be sure to read the tips at the end.

Standard Size Gowns

Our standard sizes are based on four key measurements:
Bust, Waist, Hips, and Hollow to Hem.

How to Take Your Measurements

Bust
Stand tall with your heels together and arms relaxed at your sides.
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust. The measuring tape should be parallel to the floor all the way around your body.

Waist
Find your natural waist by bending to the side—where your torso naturally creases is your waistline.
Keep your heels together and wrap the tape around your waist without pulling tight. The measuring tape should be parallel to the floor all the way around your body.

Hips
With heels together and arms relaxed, measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom. The measuring tape should be parallel to the floor all the way around your body.

Hollow to Hem
The length from the base of your neck (the hollow between your collarbones) down to where you want the gown to fall in the front (hem). Typically for wedding gowns this measurement should be taken to the floor.

Once you have your measurements, compare them to our size chart to find your best fit. If your measurements fall between sizes, choose the size that fits your largest measurement. It’s much easier for a tailor to take in a gown than to let one out.

Need a perfect fit? A custom-sized gown may be your best option.

Custom Sized Gowns

For the best fit and most flattering silhouette, we always recommend custom sizing.

Custom gowns are made specifically for your body using a full set of personalized measurements. This allows us to tailor every detail—no pinning, no guessing—just a gown that fits like it was made for you (because it was).

A Few Important Tips

For the most accurate results, we strongly recommend having a friend, family member, or professional tailor take your measurements. Measuring yourself often leads to errors, even with the best intentions.

Wear the exact undergarments and shoes you plan to wear with your gown while being measured if possible. The right foundation pieces make a big difference in how your dress fits and falls.

Use a standard cloth measuring tape (not a metal one), and be sure it’s snug but not tight—just enough to stay in place. Stretchy or worn tapes can throw off your numbers, so make sure yours is in good shape.
